Just finished a combination of reshacking, photoshop, and coding to bring you

AIM Lite

It is three files - lite.exe, AimRes.dll, and DeadAIM.dll(thanks to JDennis). Copy them into your AIM directory and change your AIM shortcut to point to lite.exe. (make a backup of your existing AimRes.dll if you want to remove AIM Lite and just use regular AIM)

I made this in honor of the recent release of ICQ Lite (so AIM wouldn't seem so bulky next to it).

What is it? A lighter version of AIM, dummy! It hides some less used features, along with ads.

This is not a standalone app- it requires you to have the real AIM installed. I have version 4.7.2480.

easy install instructions:

1. Install AIM (if it isn't already installed), download AIM Lite
2. Make sure AIM is not opened (no icon in the taskbar) and go into your AIM directory
3. Open aimlite.zip in your favorite unzipping utility (I like WinAce) and extract/copy the 3 files into your AIM directory. If you would like to get rid of AIM Lite without reinstalling AIM, make a copy of your existing AIMRes.dll before copying the AIM Lite files over.
4. Run lite.exe to use AIM Lite.
